Matt was able to get my dog listen to commands and help build my dogs confidence. She’s doing things that she’s never done before.
Sit means sit has been so helpful to our pup and family! Put baby had some minor food aggression in addition to being very protective of our other dog because of a dog attack. Sam is our trainer and I cannot say enough nice things about him. He made sure to check in, answered any and all questions we had, was patient with our baby girl and had the best jokes. If you’re on the fence you should just do it! It’s worth every penny!
Ethan was the most amazing trainer for my doberman puppy!! she used to be super reactive which is the kind of dogs ethan works with and now she’s 1000 times better 🙏🏼
How Sit Means Sit Portland describes its work
Sit Means Sit Dog Training - Portland says its trainers put the happiness of dog and owner first, in equal measure. The company describes its core case as the dog whose aggression or nonstop energy drags down a whole household. It calls its method attention-based obedience training.
The business works from Tigard, and its website names Portland and Beaverton among the areas it trains in. Its stated specialties are behavior cases: leash reactivity, separation anxiety and aggression toward people or other dogs. It also says it takes on everything from a 5-pound Pomeranian to a 150-pound Mastiff.
Tigard, in Washington County, had 57,929 residents in 2025, per the Census Bureau. The median home in town was built in 1988, per the American Community Survey (2024).
Board-and-train and day training
The company says it shapes board-and-train and day train programs around each dog's needs. One-on-one lessons then work owners and dogs through the problems they meet in daily life. It reports that every dog who completes a program may attend group classes for life, including sessions held in high-distraction settings.
Pricing is set per dog. The business states that temperament, age and prior training all feed into the quote, along with the owner's goals. It says a free evaluation of one hour or less comes first, so the family can meet the trainer and decide if the program fits.
On Google, the business holds a 4.9 rating across 274 reviews. Reviewers most often describe progress with reactive, fearful or anxious dogs, more confident dogs on walks and off leash, and steady follow-up from their trainers after the program ends.
The company says its lifetime warranty is built to keep trainers in a long-term relationship with each client, with ongoing support from its staff.
