On the worst day of our lives, TJ Fluhr Funeral Home made everything feel manageable. When we didn’t know what we needed or what to do next, they did. They guided us with kindness, patience, and humility. They took care of details we never would have thought of, including contacting my father’s former workplace (from which he was retired) so they could be present with bag pipes, and arranging for military honors with Taps being played.

TJ and his team are wonderful. Not only are they professional, they are kind and compassionate. TJ and his team were always available for any need we had during the planning of our loved one's funeral. We are so appreciative of everything the team did for us.

Caring, Compassionate, only want to make things easy for my family. Thank you TJ and Corrine as well as the team that were on hand the day of the funeral. Nick Milillo

How T.J. Fluehr Funeral Home describes its work

T.J. Fluehr Funeral Home and Cremation Service says its funeral directors help families sort through every option for honoring someone who has died, from burial and cremation to pre-planning. Its website states the firm was founded in 1908 and now runs two locations in Philadelphia. It describes owners T.J. and Korrine as Philadelphia natives.

The company lists veteran services, VA burial benefits and Medicaid planning alongside caskets, urns and obituaries. It also names webcasting. Its stated coverage reaches Torresdale, Bensalem and Morrell Park, plus other nearby communities.

The company says families can call at any hour of any day for immediate help, and the funeral home is open 24 hours. It describes its building as newly remodeled, with a historic brick exterior and an updated visitation room. Homes in Philadelphia have a median build year of 1949, per the American Community Survey (2024). The city counted 1,574,281 residents in 2025, per the Census Bureau, in Philadelphia County.

Visitation and traditional funeral service in Philadelphia

The firm describes a traditional sequence. Family members get private time with the embalmed body first, then a public visitation follows, usually running two to six hours, on the day before the funeral.

The service itself can take place at the funeral home, in a church or at a place the family picks. A procession then goes to the cemetery, where pallbearers carry the casket to the grave for interment. The company also names graveside services, a family reception room and luncheon receptions after the cemetery.

On Google, the funeral home holds a 4.9 rating from 26 reviews. Many reviewers mention the owners' patience and attention to detail, and several say the staff stayed reachable through every stage of planning.

The company says its role goes beyond arranging a funeral or cremation, to giving grieving families guidance and comfort.
